SanctityRO Rules & Conduct

1. No botting, macroing, or any use of third party programs will be tolerated. Anyone caught using any of these will be instantly banned, no questions asked. We will not tolerate any use of these programs.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Instant ban of all accounts and IP upon inspection and proof. No questions asked.

2. Do not scam. Please do not try to scam players in trades for items/zeny/or in any other form.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Warning
  • Second Offense: Jailing for 24 hours.
  • Third Offense: Ban

3. Respect your GMs. Remember GMs are the ones in charge and they only try their best to help you. Respect their judgment in issues or matters and if you believe you've been wronged or haven't had your story heard then please contact the administrator as soon as possible. Keep this in mind and try to discuss your side of the situation without allowing yourself to get out of hand if you truly feel you are being wronged.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: 10 Minute Mute
  • Second Offense: 7 Day Ban
  • Third Offense: Permanent Ban

4. Do not slander or harass other players. Players who are found using any severe slurs or statements based on another's race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation will be muted for a significant amount of time and any repeat offenders beyond a certain level of severity will be banned. We expect our players to deal with issues or arguments in a mature manner rather than being childish and hateful. The harassment rule does also extend to vital portions of the gameplay as well, if another guild/party is repeatedly warping your MvP while your party has it under control* this is in fact harassment and will be tolerated as such by the GM who handles the case. *Under control refers to your guild successfully keeping it on one of them at all times. Asura Bombing is not protected under this rule nor are you protected if you are all dead/have left the map. However, if the team being questioned for the harassment is laying dead on the map intentionally to make it heal, you WILL still have a case in these scenarios.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: 10 Minute Mute in the case of verbal harrassment, 20 minutes in the case of physical harrassment of warping MVPs for everyone involved.
  • Second Offense: Permanent Ban

5. No spamming in town! Anyone found skill spamming, chat spamming (party, guild, normal are all included) without regards to everyone else will be warned to stop and if they do not stop, they will be jailed for an amount of time decided by the GM handling it or muted for ten minutes.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: 5 Minute Mute.
  • Second Offense: Jailing for 24 hours.
  • Third Offense: Permanent Ban

6. No KS'ing! We do not take kill stealing lightly on SanctityRO. We want everyone to have a fair and equal chance in terms of leveling and enjoying the PvM aspect of the game. This means if anyone is caught KS'ing with significant proof they will be temporarily jailed for 24 hours. Repeat offenders will be permanently jailed or banished. We only consider DB/BB spawns and MVPs as FREE FOR ALL. Please also note that FREE FOR ALL only refers to KILL STEALING. Nothing more. Harassment is still harassment.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Jailing for 24 hours.
  • Second Offense: Permanent Ban.

7. Do not impersonate a GM! If we catch anyone claiming to be a GM we will instantly ban all of your accounts and your IP from the server. No ifs, ands, or buts. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE WHO ASKS YOU FOR YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION! WE WOULD NEVER ASK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Permanent Ban and IP Ban.

8. Do not exploit bugs or abuse the game mechanics! If you have discovered a bug please report it to a staff member immediately either by PMing them in game or on the forums. Please try to avoid posting a bug report thread on the forums so that other players can not become aware of it and abuse it before we are able to fix it. If you are caught abusing a bug you will be punished on nearly the same level as botters and will be banned from the server instantly and likely receive an IP ban as well.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Permanent Ban. Bug abuse will not be tolerated.

9. Do not break open DBs on ANY maps except for the designated Dead Branch Rooms! Anyone caught violating this rule will be instantly jailed, no questions asked. The rooms are there for a reason, make use of them. This also includes abuse of the Azoth dagger* on mushrooms in order to spawn creatures within a town, field or on the vending map. Repeat offenders will be banned. * - If you can't use common sense to see how this is the same thing as using DBs outside of the DB room, perhaps you shouldn't be playing and if caught WON'T be playing for a few days.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Warning.
  • Second Offense: Jailing for 24 hours.
  • Third Offense: Permanent Ban. * - Instant three day banishment.

10. Do not modify the SanctityRO client! If you are caught using any modifications that directly affects gameplay such as the removal of the blind effect or the ability to see damages in WoE you will be instantly banned, no questions asked.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Permanent Ban and IP Ban.

11. No excessive swearing will be tolerated. With the chat filter removed it does not mean you can run around insulting other players or swearing to your heart's content. While you will be technically allowed to swear, excessive abuse of it will result in a ten minute mute and if you decide the mute didn't teach you anything, you'll then receive a banishment of three days and a permanent ban the next time it occurs. What determines excessive will be decided by the GM who ultimately handles the case. If a GM is already on in town when it occurs, when they tell you to stop that is when if you continue it will cross the line of excessive and punishment will be handed out.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Ten Minute Mute.
  • Second Offense: 3 Day Ban.
  • Third Offense: Permanent Ban.

12. Do not dodge your punishments! If you are jailed on one character, do not simply log it out and jump on another character to argue with the GMs who put you in there or continue to do what put you in there in the first place or else you will receive an instant three day ban. In fact, don't do it at all. Just sit quietly and wait out your punishment like intended. When logged out your jail time or mute time won't count down anyway, so it's honestly best to just sit there and wait. In some less severe cases you may even be let out early for good behavior if you comply with this. Please note that this rule also includes dual clienting. If you're in jail on your main character do not simply dual client another one and continue to play or your punishment may be extended or increased in severity for blatant disregard for this rule. IP addresses WILL be checked, so do not think you can be a smart aleck and get by. This rule now also extends to the forums, if you are suspended or banned from posting and you make another forum account to continue posting, your in-game account will be the next to be punished and receive a three day ban or if it and your forum account are already currently being punished, you will receive a permanent ban from the server. * - Chats count against this rule. Do not open a chat when muted for any reason.

Punishments Possible:

  • First Offense: Three Day Ban of all accounts.
  • Second Offense: Permanent Ban.

13. No Real Money Trading! If you attempt to sell your account or items for real cash and we find out about it, not only will the account in question be instantly banned and IP banned, so will all of the accounts of both people involved.

  • First Offense: Instant ban of all parties involved.

14. Do not abuse the trade system. This counts as an offense if you repeatedly use trade during War of the Emperium, PvM, or PvP gameplay. Doing this, many players won't be able to cancel in time to attack back. If you are caught doing this in such a way that it can be deemed to not be an accidental misclick, you will be punished.

  • First Offense: Temporary ban of 3 days.
  • Second Offense: Temporary ban of 7 days.
  • Third Offense: Permanent Ban.
